I apologize to the whole world for this. As a parent of millennials, I could have done better. Now, what can we do to help them?
Sincerely, A Millennial”
I appreciate you’re speaking up.
This is not meant to be an argument, but an explanation of what has been misinterpreted from a simple post on facebook. I understand that people interpret things from their own perspective.
Now, if you will indulge me…
Because there is a lot missing in translation when the message is from social media memes, sometimes there needs to be an extended dialogue.
Please allow me to deconstruct the narrative for everyone.
Not a Millennial thing…
I agree. The women’s march was not a millennial thing.
I was calling attention to those concerned for the Millennial generation because I am the father of those of the Millennial generation and it is your generation that will construct the future. Because of what I know, it is my obligation to alert those concerned about the dangers ahead.
What these women are doing…
What these young ladies (and gentlemen) are doing is not obvious to the casual observer.
The reality is that this is yet another symptom of a larger cause. These are merely the useful idiots of a more nefarious cabal that has infiltrated every institution of our civilization.
“In political jargon, a useful idiot is a person perceived as a propagandist for a cause whose goals they are not fully aware of, and who is used cynically by the leaders of the cause.” Useful idiot – Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Useful_idiot
The Strategy, Co-opt Movements
“…women, who for a very long time were repressed and pushed around and sadly still are across the world. We have been forced for so long to bend to societal demands and act/look a particular way.”
In some respects, it is true. Women have been repressed. But in recognizing this, we have to be careful. The radical leftists have seized this opportunity to exploit it by inserting their own language and ideology called Marxist Critical Theory.
“Marriage and family, the very building blocks of our society, are perpetually attacked and subverted. Marriage is portrayed as a plot by men to perpetuate an evil system of domination over women and children. The family is depicted as a dangerous institution epitomized by violence and exploitation. Patriarchally oriented families are, according to the Gramscians, the precursors of fascism, Nazism, and every organized form of racial persecution.” http://www.thenewamerican.com/culture/history/item/15545-gramscis-grand-plan
“Praise women who have the strength to speak out no matter if you or I should agree with the words or presentation…”
To this statement, I would have to say, context matters. I have heard similar statements about encouraging people to read. They say, as long as they read, it doesn’t matter what it is. That would be like saying it doesn’t matter what you drink, eat or breath. If you drink the wrong substance, you could kill yourself. And by believing and propagating a self-destructive ideology, you could get us all killed.
“…I’m greatly saddened by some things you post because it isn’t uplifting at all.”
That’s true, sometimes I post about distressing things that come across my newsfeed. I criticize the things I don’t like. And sometimes I find them so ridiculous that I just mock them. But, hey, we are in a fallen world and I myself have taken the challenge to correct the wrongs I see in society, just like you do when you correct me.
